Our Story

How it all began

It all started with an accounting class.

When Breanna's brother Alex signed up for the course in college, he had no idea he'd walk out with a best friend and future brother-in-law. But that's exactly what happened when he met Chance — workout buddy, classmate, and apparently, amateur matchmaker.

Five years later, Alex had a plan: convince his sister to leave Texas for California. He recruited Chance, and together they pulled out all the stops — a day of sailing San Diego Bay, followed by Chance hosting a flight over it. Bree says Chance was absolutely flirting on that flight. Chance maintains he was simply being a good co-conspirator.

Either way, it worked. Bree was moving to San Diego.

What followed was a month of daily texts and phone calls while she packed up her life — and then, the day after she arrived, their first date. Somewhere in the middle of it, Chance awkwardly asked to take her photo. Then, before the date was even over, asked her on a second one. Smooth.

The years since have looked a lot like home — camping trips, family dinners, lazy days with their two dogs Sam and Dolly, and the quiet joy of building a life together. Then last year, they took a trip to Switzerland and came back engaged. Most women would have held out for something more romantic than a mountaintop with a private violinist, but Bree has never been high-maintenance.

They're back in San Diego now — still best friends, still each other's favorite part of every ordinary day.

Recommended

Rent a Car

Easiest way to get around Marin County. Pick up at SFO; you'll want it for the weekend.

Take the Golden Gate

Head north on US-101 over the Golden Gate Bridge — the most direct and most scenic route.

Add the toll pass at car pickup

When you pick up your rental, they'll ask if you'd like the toll pass — say yes. The Golden Gate and the rest of the bridges around San Francisco are all-electronic tolling, and the rental agency fees for unpaid tolls add up fast. The toll pass covers unlimited bridge crossings for the rental period.
